Utilizing R.A.C.E as a Framework in Effecting Public Policy Redressing Racial & Gender Inequities

September 1, 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood before the 75th American Psychological Association Annual Conference attendees in Washington, DC, during a time if racial and civil unrest, and challenged them to use their professional abilities to eliminate racial injustice and bias……..

……and on November 14, 2021, 54 years later, Dr. Karla channeled Dr. King, Jr., by issuing a Call To Action during her 2021 Bridging the Gap Virtual Summit Presentation to over 445 attendees to begin “Utilizing R.A.C.E. as a Framework in Effecting Public Policy Redressing Racial & Gender Inequities”

R.A.C.E. stands for Research, Advocacy & Activism, Critical Thinking, and Education!

Dr. Karla’s political idol, Shirley Chisholm, once stated, “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas”, and she truly felt this statement affirmed by the participants feedback throughout and at the conclusion of her presentation.

On March 2, 2022, Dr. Karla’s Labor of my ❤, “Utilizing R.A.C.E As A Framework in Effecting Public Policy Redressing Racial and Gender Inequities” was published and released as a the newest addition to Mental Health Academy Course Catalog for Continuing Education Credit and she Officially became a Mental Health Academy Featured Content Expert in Public Policy Advocacy.
